Sunnier Days

Sometimes sunny days are hard to come by during Hawaiian winters, but when the sun decides to show its face, best believe we are making the most of those moments!
Halloween 2017 stands out in my mind for a day full of fun surf with all the crew ending up in the water serendipitously . . . the sunrise was out of this world, and the sunset put on a show for us too . . . it'll definitely go down in my memory bank as a day I'll never forget.
And although I got to enjoy a surf in the evening with my friends, I'm so happy I took out the housing for the sandbar session earlier that afternoon. Here are some snaps of happy campers enjoying the calm before the storm :)

TESTS: Anna Briggs

I mostly love shooting people because of the rich conversations, exchanges, and friendships that can be cultivated in a couple of hours between a piece of glass. It intrigues me and inspires me and these beautiful moments in time are what keep me coming back for more.

My short time spent with Anna Briggs on this particular day stood out amongst other shoots I've done this year. We chose simplicity over complication, nature over things touched by man, and the outcome made my soul happy.

Malia in Black & White: Part 1

There's something about lazy days like these . . . Getting creative with our days when the surf is blown out, we've had our coffee, no work to do . . . photo adventures are always a good day.

It was great to have our friend Matt Bruening (www.mattbruening.com) spending the weekend on the North Shore and recruiting him to style with whatever we could find in our closets at the moment.

This is part 1 of 4 . . . X
